Small flies are clinging to the undersides of these young oak leaves.

There are several species of these red-bodied beetles. Some, like these have heads which are also red; others have black heads.

These were (presumably) two different individuals spotted a mile or so apart on the same day.

This robin was pecking away at a lump of bread half as big as its own head by Badger pool.
