One of the two flowers of the garden lily, seen yesterday as buds, as it opened. The first picture here was taken in the evening, with the flower wide open. The second picture is from early on the morning of the same day, with the petals as yet just half open.

Single stalk of barley, almost ripe, growing wild by a roadside well away from any fields. Very short stem, so it may actually have been wild barley.
