Mound of earth by the entrance to a badger sett which is still being actively extended. A group of mushrooms growing on the peak of the evacuated sandy soil had been part covered when the badgers had thown out yet more debris.

Autumn colours: yew "berries" ripening

Green and red, evergreen leaves and the bright red of the fleshy aril. This looks like a berry, but actually a fleshy coating to a single seed, a modified cone. The seeds, like most parts of the tree, are poisonous.
