Male and female tufted ducks on the lake at West Park. The male’s tuft, normally prominent at the back of the head, can’t be seen because of the angle of the bird. The female’s isn’t normally visible, but is in some of these pictures.

I couldn’t get close enough for a clear inspection, but this looked like a lone clump of cotton grass growing in the pool at the end of the boardwalk on Kingsmead Marsh, Stafford.
