Another visit to West Park, once again the Egyptian goose was there, strutting along the shore of the lake, hoping to be given bread but ready to escape onto the water if necessary.

Not underwater on a tropical reef, but in the beds of the Castle Grounds at Bridgnorth. This coral fungus species sends up its fruiting bodies in the same area in the late autumn every year.

Clusters of small mushrooms with bonnet-shaped caps on thin, delicate-looking stems. There were several patches of these growing in the beds of the Castle Grounds, Bridgnorth.

White berries, insted of the more usual red, on a rowan tree in the garden area by Lavington’s Hole, at the base of the sandstone cliff at Bridgnorth.

Tree, half visible in the field next to the Pendeford Mill Nature Reserve on a misty morning. Another, even more ghostly, farther away.

Redlead roundhead mushrooms, originally from Australia. In this coutry usually found growing, as here, on wood chip mulch. These were right by the side of the Severn at Bridgnorth.
