Orange peel fungus

Orange peel fungus

It really does look very like pieces of range peel which have been left as litter. The small pale yellow object on the fungus above is a tiny insect.

Orange peel fungus

This fungus appears in the same spot, very near the Conservatory in West Park, every autumn.

Related to the cultivated oyster fungus, which is whiter.

Branched oyster fungus

This one was growing on the top of a tree stump by the Bridgnorth Road. The base of the same trunk was covered in a swarm of honey fungus.
