Rook gathering, Compton

Rook gathering, Compton

Ten or a dozen rooks on a tree by the Bridgnorth Road at Compton, seemingly keeping an eye on the comings and goings at the garage opposite. When I took out the camera, they all took off. Flew around fpr perhaps half a minute while they checked what I was doing, then landed back in their tree.

Resting: goosander drake, Bridgnorth

Goosander drake, the same bird featured in yesterday’s post, and still on Bridgnorth’s Bylet gravel beach. Now taking a long rest. First pictures taken from the bridge; final picture taken after I walked up to High Town, looking down to the river from Castle Walk.

Coral fungus growing in one of the beds of Castle Grounds Park, Bridgnorth. This is the third lot of this fungus I’ve noticed at different  times in the park. Each time it’s been in a different bed. Each time it’s been darker than the time before.
