Daddy-long-legs spider on a chair

Daddy-long-legs spider, Bishop Percy's House

Daddy-long-legs spider on its web, on a chair. This is a spider, not a harvestman (eight legs but not a spider, also called a daddy-long-legs), nor yet a cranefly (insect, six legs and wings, once again called a daddy-long-legs).

Duck and two ducklings, Bylet, Bridgnorth

Female mallard with two recently hatched ducklings, tip of the Bylet, Bridgnorth. One duckling was swimming in the current as if jet propelled, hawking for flies. The other one pictured was sleeping on the island, just like mother. A third duckling appeared after I put the camera away.
