Nuthatch on the gnarly trunk of one of the willows in Stratford on Avon park. The rough surface of the wood gives lots of crevices for insects, so plenty of potential prey for the bird.

Swan and cygnets, West Park, yesterday
Swan and the two cygnets on West Park boating lake yesterday, floating gently and preening. The first picture in the set was my entry to the Newhampton Arts Centre Paint the Day event.
Revisit about a week later to the area where there are orchids galore in Baggeridge Country Park. These are again all spotted orchids, southern marsh orchids, hybrids of the two, and pyramid orchids. I looked for the bee orchids nearby, but missed them. I did them manage to see the ones on Wrens Nest.
