Swan family by River Sow, Doxey

Swan family of two adults and two well-grown cygnets not doing very much by the River Sow on the Doxey Marshes Nature Reserve. They were only a couple of yards from the path, but stayed set in place despite a steady stream of dogwalkers passing.

Centaurus flower, Malvern Hills

Centaurus flower, Malvern Hills

Centaurus flowering by the footpath leading up from St Anne’s Well to the ridge of the Malvern Hills. Presumably an escape from a garden, though even the nearest one (the flower beds of the cafĂ© at the well) were some distance away.

Independent-minded cygnet, West Park

Independent-minded cygnet, West Park

One of the five remaining cygnets from this year’s swan brood at West Park. This one always seems to be off on its own, instead of hanging out with its siblings and one or both parents. At least, I’m presuming it’s the same bird every time.
