Haste on a misty morning

Canada geese on West Park lake – despite the thick mist, they had spotted someone scattering a handful of grain by one of the paths.

They took off in some numbers, rushing to get to the grain first. A flock of pigeons were nearer, and beat the geese. But there was still plenty to eat when they did land.
