A small group of deer feeding round the base of a tree on the edge of Cannock Chase. The pictures date back to 2011, but I never previously got round to posting them.

The mallard cross duck which recently showed up on West Park lake looks like it might be settling in, at least for a little while. It seems to be hanging round with the same mallard drake, which is somewhat the smaller of the two.

Another sunny day in West Park, and the turtle once again out sunning itself on its fallen log. This time, it was joined by two Canada geese standing out of the water.

This tiny beetle was walking around on a leaf, possibly eating some of the grains of pollen which had fallen there. One of many beetle species with antennae which are very long in proportion to their bodies.

This Canada goose had just completely submerged in West Park lake, before swimming off at high speed.

The turtle which has been living in the lake in West Park, Wolverhampton for at least five years.
