It’s hanging out with the tufties. While I was there, it spent most of the time hiding behind the board around the island. Emerged briefly to display to one of the (male) tufties it is hanging round with, and to preen.

The male greater spotted woodpecker at Northycote Farm, now eating for some time from the nearest seed feeder – mostly from the far side of course.
