Goosander pair on high river

Goosander pair on high river

A couple of days after the peak water level following Storm Dennis, so the riverside footpaths at Bridgnorth all closed.

No signs of the usual gang of waterfowl which hangs around by the Bylet waiting to be fed. The only birds there were the goosander pair which seem to becoming resident. Not sure how they could see to locate prey in the turbid water, but they seemed to be thriving.

Paddling, drinking, muddy pool

A muddy puddle in the duck pen at Northycote Farm, with some of the ducks wading in it. Sipping from it as they did so, though there was clean drinking water nearby.
