Harlequin ladybirds may look nice, but these invaders are a serious threat to our native species. I’ve seen more of them than of all other species so far this spring.
The turtle or terrapin which appeared in the West Park lake in early April. Still seems to be comfortable, spending hours on warm days sunbathing on a log in the water.
Muscovy duck on the side of the lake at Perton. Probably a drake, a long term resident, spending most of its time around the area where children come to feed the ducks.
West Park lake, earlier this week, with a swan coming down on the water right where I was already pointing the camera. A Canada geese and a couple of goslings managed to slip into one shot as well.
