Misty morning, West Park. Just visible in the distance, the bridge over the lake. Swimming under it, swans already in pairs. It had been Valentine’s Day the day before, but the swans were already going round two by two by the end of January.
Another bird approaching garden birdfeeders, but carefully checking first that everything is safe. A great tit looking out carefully.
Primrose plants on the edge of Coppice Wood just before the snow started, no signs of flowers yet.
More birds attracted to a wintery garden by a plentiful supply of seeds, and of water to drink and bathe in. This time it’s bluetits.

A very thin layer of snow covering the ground, with roads and footpaths clear. The West Park lakes, about half the water covered with ice. A clear blue sky, a bright morning sun, but a bitterly cold easterly wind in sub-zero temperatures.
