A series of blushing bracket fungi growing on a half-fallen tree trunk by the Railway Walk near Newbridge. The upper surface is initially off-white, later developing the red-brown “blush”.

This long-tailed tit was reluctant to be photographed as it flitted about the branches of a buddleia bush. First pointing its long tail directly at me, then hiding on the far side of the bush.

Similar colours, but two types of lichens (between patches of moss) growing on all the blackthorn bushes in the thicket between the Barley Field and Railway Walk.

Robin at the end of a twig, clinging on tightly as it sings to challenge any other robin which might be nearby.
