One of the evocative sights and smells of the Mediterranean: an oleander, flowering.

A southern white admiral butterfly, most commonly found in southern Europe (d’oh).

So much more attractive than a common bindweed, the bright blue flowers of a morning glory.

Butterfly, species unknown, resting on one of the plants growing from the limestone rock of one of the calanques of Cassis.

A smokebush  (cotinus) in the small municipal park in the resort of Cassis.

A cicada, creator of one of the characteristic sound effects of the Mediterranean.

Just for once, not hard to spot in vegetation. Instead, it was sitting on a fence.
