The bark of this birch tree, by Chapel Ash island, is peeling back like paper.

The clump of blackthorn (sloe) between the Railway Walk and Barley Field in the Smestow Valley LNR at the peak of their blossoming.

The japonica and azalea bushes have been planted together by one of the entrances to West Park so their flowers should form a nice contrast. Unfortunately their flowering seasons didn’t quite coincide this year.

Cultivated, but too spectacular to ignore. The bush carrying these flowers is right by one of the gates of West Park
