The tiny green beetle is an Oedemera nobilis. Some websites claim it is called the flower beetle. It is described as being common in southern England, and most frequently found on the flower on which it is pictured here.

These were growing on a grassy bank by the Halesowen ring road.

These reed flowers were beginning to go over when this picture was taken early last month.

This goose was watchful but determined to stay in place by the Birmingham canal near the bridge carrying Cable Street.

The blue flower is a meadow cranesbill, possibly an escapee. The pink is from a species common in local hedgerows well away from gardens.
