Windmill Lane is one of the relatively few places it’s possible to get a clear view of the Smestow brook within the city boundaries.
The only clear view of this small waterfall is from above and upstream. I thought it made an interesting almost monochrome abstract composition.
Lime flowers just beginning to open.
Quite common, though less so than the greater plantain. This one was growing by one of the footpaths in the Smestow Valley LNR.
This tiny and delicate flower can be used as an ingredient for a wine, a “champagne”, a cordial or a herbal tea.
The rest of the flowers on this bush had already started to open, but for some reason the ones on this twig were still waiting to burst.
Several marsh marigold plants were growing by the pool in Bantock Park.
