These were of a cultivated conifer in a garden facing onto Compton Road. I’ve exaggerated the odd appearance by holding the camera very close to the subject and zooming the lens to its widest angle setting.

Spotted in front gardens
At this time of year striking flowers start to show in front gardens. These star magnolia blossoms were from the same bush.
The mahonia and the elaborate ornamental cherry were close neighbours near to Codsall church.
The vivid pieris leaves were on bushes in front of two houses on the same street.

The Crooked House
This famous pub is a dramatic example of how human activity can impact on the landscape. The crazy distortions from the level can give the feeling of being drunk when entering, without a drop (yet) being taken. Its condition is all down to subsidence from the former mines there.
