Notice how reminiscent the flowers and especially the leaves are to nightshades such as those in the next but one post.

They are related, and many parts of the potato plant, including the berries if they are allowed to grow, are poisonous.. The spud itself should be avoided if parts of the skin are green.

Normally a garden plant, with flowers that have a shape resembling the leg of traditional dutch trousers.

This one must have been an escape. It was growing in a hedgerow near Worfield. The pictures were taken just before the flowers were completely out.
