I noticed this carved mouse on the signpost for a footpath as I was walking to get to the Pendeford Mill Reserve for its Open Day a while back.

Despite the wet summer, the seeds of this angelica are drying out and ripening. The picture was taken right at the start of the month.

A large cross spider, and so almost certainly a female, was darting about her web as she repaired damage to the threads.

These raspberries were beginning to ripen at the start of the month.

Two moths caught asleep in the daytime. This one was in short grass on a seaside hill.

This one, with cryptic camouflage, was in a privet hedge.
