The view looking in the entrance to the rose garden at Bantock Park on a sunny winter’s day.

A male mallard which had just got into the water of the then almost iced-over West Park lake.

The remains of last year’s growth on an umbellifer holding piles of snow in each hollow.

Views towards both sides of Castlecroft Bridge when the snow was lying. The bridge connects farm fields which are divided by the Staffs & Worcs Canal.

Green, possibly unripe, berries on an ornamental laurel with mottled leaves. I noticed the bush in someone’s front garden a few days ago.

Snow had even managed to settle on the thin platform provided by the leaves of these reeds growing in the canal near Castlecroft.
