Two lichens growing on the same bough by a path at Northycote Farm. I thought they looked like miniature seaweeds, marooned inland.

A lesser celandine growing by the canal near Castlecroft. The lack of sharpness is from taking this close-up without a tripod. I wasn’t aiming for this effect, but thought it looked a little like an impressionist painting.

Horse chestnut buds are covered in a resin which is normally sticky or tacky. This one seemed to have dried out.
