The “whale-backed” outline of the Wrekin, seen from a lane on the Shropshire-Staffordshire county boundary.

Cluster of seeds on an ivy, growing at eye level by a towpath. I couldn’t work out why some of the seeds were so wet the water was almost forming a drop, while nearby seeds looked bone dry.

Glistening ink-caps growing low on the trunk of a tree. These had probably emerged the previous night.

These, slightly higher on the trunk, were a couple of days older.
