Ragwort is the preferred food source for cinnabar moth caterpillars. The yellow and black stripes are a colour coded warning to would-be predators.

Ducklings from above

Female mallard swimming with her ducklings in the canal right at the point where the towpath crosses a bridge over a side-arm, giving a chance to picture the birds directly from above.

There were seven ducklings altogether – one nonconformist was out of shot, further from the group.
