Selection of a group of eight collared earthstars growing under a hedge by the towpath at Castlecroft, in a spot where some of the fungi have grown for several winters.

All of these have probably finished their task of distributing their spores, and are more or less battered by their time over the ground.

Some goosanders seem to be settling by the Severn for the breeding season. There were two pairs swimming together in the middle of the river a little downstream from Bridgnorth.
