Immature male Beautiful Demoiselle at rest, warming itself in the morning sun. Adult males are a stunning electric blue, females brown (and often the hardest to spot).

More orchids from Sandwell Valley Country Park – these were growing in wildflower meadows only a short walk from the new and impressive looking RSPB Visitor Centre.
