More escaped garden poppies – these had flowers which were various shades of purple.

Poppies which I came across in a variety of locations. The large flowers make it likely that the ones growing wild were escaped garden varieties.

Poppies. The pink petals, on double flowers, indicate these were probably from a garden variety, even though they were growing “wild”

Mullein, flowers opening

Mullein (velvet plant) in the garden at Lavington’s Hole, Bridgnorth. On some stems the flowers wer still buds, on others they had started to open.
