West Park heron, backlit

West Park heron, backlit

One of the herons which seem to be semi-resident in West Park. This one was standing on an island willow, fallen into the lake, and on the look for prey.

Bird and tree were lit from behind by the early morning sun; the light shining through the heron’s bill.
