West Park cormorant, stayed perching for some time at water level for a change. It seemed to be looking around its nose disdainfully at the gulls around it and the Canada geese swimming by.

A sunny bank by a bridge over the canal. Until recently it has been covered every spring in violet and lesser celandine flowers in their contrasting colours. Now there are just the celandines.
