The delicate flowers of meadowsweet, often found growing by water. These flowers and unopened buds were on plants growing by the canal at Newbridge, and by the pool at Compton Park.

Holly blue butterfly on leaves of an ivy growing on the wall by Castle Walk, Bridgnorth, in the warm morning sunshine yesterday.

I don’t know if it’s because of the places I go, but it seems that I usually see this butterfly around ivy, rather than the tree which gives it its name.

xThis year’s brood of West Park cygnets, along with both parent birds, were feeding on grass near to the pool. Several lesser black backed gulls came along to see what the fuss was about.
