Oyster fungus, a gilled fungus usually found growing from the trunks or stumps of trees, and sometimes also found on supermarket shelves. These were growing on a tree trunk in Himley Plantation and a decaying fallen trunk in Bantock Park.
A row of young maples planted in the Bancroft Gardens next to the RSC theatre in Stratford make a striking impression in autumn as the leaves colour up with vivid reds with touches of orange, yellow and brown.
