Camelias from another bush in the same garden as yesterday’s. The flowers on this one were not quite as far out.

A dunnock calling from a perch high in a tree. It carried on undisturbed even though it knew we had stopped to watch it, confident it was safe where it was.

It’s spring, so it’s time for spring-flowering camelias to flower. These were all on the same bush.

There’ve been very few butterflies so far this spring. This is only the second one I’ve seen – the other was also a comma.

This one landed on a garden wall a few yards ahead of where I was walking, and spread its wings to warm itself.

A tiny nest high in one of the trees in Bantock Park. The owner must be a similarly small bird: perhaps a wren or a goldcrest.

Another magpie busily searching in the short grass of West Park for things to eat, unperturbed that I was nearby and watching it.
