Carrion crow, partly albinistic
A carrion crow with small areas where its feathers are white, not black. These markings make it easy to spot, and whenever I do so it is on the opposite side of the road to Bantock Park.
Here it was exploring the moss on the roofs of garages, finding things to eat.
Not quite Easter (pasqueflower)
A pasqueflower in a front garden on Henwood Road, a reminder that Easter is around the corner. The flowers on this one were just beginning to open, a month before this year’s Easter.
Jay preening, Wightwick: video clip
A brief video of one of the jays from yesterday’s post. It was the bird which was less obscured by branches.
The white noise on the soundtrack was from the outflow of the water which bypassed Wightwick Mill lock.
Pair of jays, preening, Wightwick
A pair of jays were high in a tree by Wightwick Mill lock on the Staffs and Worcs canal.
They were so busy preening that they took no notice of me standing nearby with a camera. I was able to get all these pictures, and even a short burst of video.
Star magnolia flowers opening
Spring finally seems to be here, with more and more plants starting to flower. Here the flowers on a star magnolia in a front garden were beginning to open.
