Goose, dripping
This Canada goose had just completely submerged in West Park lake, before swimming off at high speed.
Turtle – video short
The turtle which has been living in the lake in West Park, Wolverhampton for at least five years.
A short video taken the same morning as the still images posted here.
Diving again
A male tufted duck on West Park lake. As ever, proving quite hard to photograph, because it seems to dive as soon as I get it into focus.
Whites: star magnolia
The well-separated petals of fully open star magnolia flowers, with their delicate scent.
Busy, bold magpie
Another of the West Park magpies. This one landed perhaps four yards from where I was unpacking my camera, and immediately started rooted around in the undergrowth. It was aware I was there, occasionally glancing at me before carrying on fossicking among the fallen leaves.
