This pair of ducks were swimming on the pool on the Cotwell End LNR.

The standard mushroom of the supermarket shelves. Someone had knocked one over to give a clear view of the gills, below.

I couldn’t decide which picture I preferred, so here is a selection.

This mushroom is rare, and doesn’t have an English name. It was growing on wood chipping mulch.

Gulls – but what species of gull?

The husk of the seed heads: the seeds themselves have been blown away or eaten.  Two different thistle species still show their various forms.
