Pair of greylag geese

Greylag goose

A pair of the greylag geese were sitting ignoring everyone walking by; one actually on a path, the other on the bordering short grass.

Greylag goose

The bird on the grass was not eating the daisies which surrounded it, but the larger fallen petals of another flower, probably rhododendron.

Snail through a shed window

Snail through a shed window

A snail obligingly crawled down the outside of a window on a rainy day, giving me a chance to get a series of pictures of it as seen from below.

Greater celandine flowers

Greater celandine flowers

The greater celandines I have managed to spot this year all seem to be growing in places which discourage a close approach. These pictures are of plants growing in a clump on a patch of sloping ground with brambles.
