Unlike the males with their bright blue bodies, the females are green. Perhaps I find them harder to spot because they are better camouflaged.

The mottled pattern near the apex of the cap may be the remnants of a veil. The radial corrugated stripes are unusual. This mushroom was growing unnoticed in one of the large plant boxes on the platform of Birmingham International railway station.

Seen fluttering near streams in, surprise, May. At the very end of that month, this one landed on the protective glass on Wye bridge, Hereford.
