Some of the shovellers on West Park lake, their numbers currently increased by wild birds staying where there is a reliable food source for the winter.
The birds seem to have adopted a feeding method where two, three or occasionally more of them swim around following one another in a circle, heads under the water to scoop or shovel up food.
