Blue-tailed damselfly, perching

Blue-tailed damselfly, perching

One individual blue-tailed damselfly perching on two different pieces of vegetation on the Compton Park pool earlier this month. There were a few others around, but flying and landing further from the footbridge.

It’s a male (the females don’t have the blue tail) and may be of the reddish sub-species, Ischnura elegans rufescens.
