These are sulphut tufts Hypholoma fasciculare – a very common species.
Correction – sulphur tuft – not ‘sulphut tuft’! Ooops!
Thanks for that – I’m much better at spotting than identifying.
Presumably these must have erupted relatively recently. The combination of colour, clustering and being on a tree stump should still have given me a stronger set of clues as to what they were.
